Ever seen an angry orange? A timid radish? A jealous tomato? Freymann and Elfers create this moody mixed salad by selecting fruits and vegetables predispositioned by shape and size, and then by using an exacto-knife, black-eyed peas and beet juice to wrench the emotions out of them. Funny as this all appears, you are still bound to feel sorry for a very sad little onion that appears near the end of the book. But then, onions have always had the capacity to make us cry.
